A dedication to my mother

This is my mother.

This is also my mother.

My mother loves to play Spider Solitaire while talking in the phone. Well, in the beginning she can't multitask very well, but after practising (for a very long time) she can almost convince me she wasn't playing spider solitaire until I heard a scoring sound effect of the game.

My mother has 3 very beautiful daughters, and of course, I'm the prettiest of them all! Haha! Did I mention we're all very spoilt?

Well, plus my father and an addition of a big baby as a son in law, she actually has 5 spoilt family members!

My mother is a teacher. The highlight of her teaching moment was when she reluctantly took the job to teach primary 1 pupils. Thanks to her faith and perseverance, her cute cute pupils will never miss to get out of class before she enters just to hug her! If you don't believe, please go to SK Kenyalang on Tuesday at 3pm. Give her a call before you want to do that. Mind you, teaching primary one pupils can be really tough. If I were to take over my mother's class, I'm very sure all of them will cry on my 1st day.

My mother is a huge fan of line dancing. Her dedication for line dancing proves it all. Thanks to line dancing she often travel to Sabah and even climbed the halfway through the mountain... in a car! To the spa! On Tuesdays she will teach at the woman's breast cancer society tiredlessly.

My mother loves gardening. I do know how hard it is to keep your plants alive. She managed, and they even have full bloom!

I will always enjoy my mother's ngo hiang! She will always make ngo hiang on festive seasons or when requested by her spoilt daughters. And her ngo hiang will always be the best!

Making ngo hiang is not easy, but eating them will never be difficult!

My mother has the patience of a saint! She always maintain good family values and relationship! Sad to mention we all followed our father's traits.

My mother taught me how to knit!

My mother is an almost perfect example of a peaceful plegmatic. She has good friends of all kinds all around her! Especially Auntie Marg who can cook much better than my mother (which is quite true) and her fellow laughing friend for more than a decade, Auntie Dorothy.

Owh, and of course, I almost forgot to mention Auntie Yee Heng, my mother's fellow die hard line dancing friend (and my cheese cake provider... hiaks). Both enjoy line dancing so much that they probably snore in sync after practising together till midnight.

Once in awhile my mother would show off the videos and pictures I took for her in school or line dancing and smile to herself (I noticed that alright).

My mother has always been there for us to give us wise advices, give dry humour jokes, buy cloths and t-shirts for us and scold us when things are just not right even though we're old enough to think and fend for ourselves.

Despite being half a century old, she still look very young (a compliment for her active lifestyle and ehem... hair)!

I am what I am, thanks to my mother. If it wasn't for your guidance (though my ego sometimes don't give in), your tolerance, wisdom and patience, I will not be where I am and what I am now.

Thanks Mummy! You're always the best!

I love you. Happy Mother's day!

Food mission

There was once when Cindy and Ah Loon picked me up from Kelana Jaya to have dinner together at 6. Ah Loon just finished his session of paintball. It seems he got shot and fell off quite alot of times... hahaha! Even his pants got hole! Luckily it wasn't his Dockers, or Cindy will flip!

Surprisingly they brought me to a 'road side' stall, knowing Cindy and Ah Loon don't really go places like this. Apparently it was their friend, Meng who introduced them this special stall that actually serves fushion food like steak and Cindy's favourite, some mee hoon seafood cili padi tomato whatever the name is I cannot remember. Even the plates and cups they use to serve also got class one.

Anyway we had mix grill- chicken and beef, the Cindy's favourite, warm water, warm Milo and some mango lychee drink which is really nice.

As usual Cindy wouldn't allow Ah Loon to eat so much, and I had to be the "rubbish bin". But the portion of the food was really alot even the 3 of us almost couldn't manage to finish them all; both had to wait for me to eat slowly! The secret of being thin is talk alot while eating!

Anyway with that amount of food guess how much those 2 paid? RM49! Hahaha! Quite cheap actually for fushion food.

Thanks for the trip. I had fun knowing weird stalls that serves good food.

Hobart took bath!

Hobart took bath a fews ago! He needs a scrub after someone so smart dropped him on the road and another played bunnies with Hobart. Gosh poor Hobart had to sleep far away from me since he got dirty!

Poor Hobart had to soak himself in a bucket of soup water and clorox... haha! A bit only la mummy, since his fur is getting yellowish gray and everyone started complaining, "why is your dog so dirty?" when I brought him to Bukit Tinggi and Genting. Had to scrub Hobart with a brush! Whatever dirt on Hobart will definitely be gone!

Then off to spin! Look at Hobart! So cute!

Into the washing machine with the towels just to cushion the banging effects on Hobart. Gosh I feel so sad when I see Hobart spinning like crazy in the washing machine la. But it's for the best!

It's finally time to dry up! Don't you think he's so clean?

It's time to put perfume on Hobart! He's sleeping next to me everynight now... no more trips for Hobart at the moment...

Bukit Tinggi

Welcome to Berjaya Hills at Bukit Tinggi!

It is a beautiful place!

Don't be fooled by the very beautiful pictures, the place is actually quite small. The whole resort looks like a mini cottage in France; the houses (or apartments) when you look up are actually hotel rooms and what you see on ground floor are actually restaurants and souvenier shops. Restaurant food are really expensive, especially when you're in a tight budget.

The girls I went with; Shannon, Loo Ping and JJ. Danny and Royce tagged along! As usual, Hobart became mascot!

While we walked around we saw souvenier stalls but one manage to capture our eyes; IQ games. I think we spent an hour there trying to solve all the different puzzles there. The sales person challenged us to solve puzzles through woodblocks and I was very challenged to finish the puzzles that cost me rm14. Loo Ping and Royce bought one for themselves too. Royce mentioned he bought it to laugh at his siblings.

Then on to looking around the little town. And we saw black swans!

After happily taking pictures with the swans over there, we walked to the shuttle bus stop to get a ride to the Rabbit Farm. By the way, the shuttle bus services to the attraction around the hill is provided by the management. Hobart tagged along!

RABBITS! Aren't they cute and lovely? Gosh, they hopped too fast!

In the rabbit farm we were allowed to enter the rabbit garden, touch the rabbits, play with them, and carry them at will. I think some these rabbits got frighten by us humans that when they see us they ran away. Nervous breakdown kua... And yet I manage to catch them! They're so soft and furry and cute! I wonder how tender their meat is.

And I made each and everyone of them to take pictures of rabbits on their lap. An accomplishment!

Royce and Bunny.

JJ and Bunny.

Shannon and Bunny.

Loo Ping and Bunny.

Danny and Bunny.

Even Hobart took picture with Bunny... that idiot will get it from me for making Hobart kissed Bunny forcefully without my knowledge while I was busy catching bunnies.

It was about 2pm when we hopped into our shuttle bus and back to the resort to check into our rooms. Hobart got obsessed with his knight in shinning armor!

My room! Small, comfy and cosy!

I love the washroom! So prettily adorn with mosaic tiles and a huge mirror. And the place is really clean!

Everyone came over to celebrate Shannon's birthday without a birthday song though. Then we watched the supernatural ghost-can-kill-people movie, Fragile. I hate it... I concentrate on my woodblocks trying really hard not to watch!

After the movies everyone went back to their rooms to take a nap but due to the movie I can barely sleep. So I ended up bugged Shannon in her room. Royce woke up shortly and took Baby Lumix around the cottage and snapped pictures of the beautiful views around!

Shannon and I joined him and we went to the arcade! The arcade is very sad by the way. 50% of the games there were broken.

It was 7pm by then and we all went back to our rooms to prepare dinner and a surprise self invite dinner to the couple's room.

And yes, I shared a room with Royce. I didn't have a choice actually. But Royce is a good roommate! He's clean and very helpful! We, Interior Designers, organised the room very well indeed!

During dinner we got to know Danny and JJ actually brought a huge individual photoalbum of themselves with photos of them since they were babies! I'm like thinking, wow, now I know why their bags are really huge and heavy. JJ even brought her homework along. Talk about a college-trip holidays.

The climax of this trip, for me, was while we were gossiping about JJ and Danny, a huge bug flew in and we all got a fright, and we girls took cover under the comforter when Loo Ping started to laugh. Oh my gosh it was the longest laugh I've ever had! Her laughter is like a car fail to start its engine! Worst than Mummy's! So unique and so funny that we all couldn't stop laughing and I almost died in laughter!

After dinner we cleaned up the 'dining area', we all walked around and took more pictures! Danny is an self sacrificing photographer! Maybe because he didn't like to take pictures except with his girlfriend.

The couple went off after that so the 4 of us walked around and took more pictures by the wishing well!

The next day Royce woke me up in time for breakfast and Organic Farm trip! The couple messaged Royce mentioning they wanted more nappie and personal time so we decided to go for breakfast and Organic Farm without them. I had cheese platter and salad and guava juice for my breakfast!

And off to organic farm! It's situated beside a hill near the resort so we can actually see the resort from the farm.

Our 'tour guide' brought us around the organic farm and mentioned they only use chicken poo as fertiliser, cover the soil beds with plastic so that when it rains the soil won't be over moist.

No pesticide is needed. Our tour guide mentioned the worms can eat as much as they want! Can't kill the worms because it will spread to different vege and situation can be bad.

They were many types of vegetables planted in the farm. One of them is cherry tomatoes! Look Mummy, my face not much pimples!

And we get free samples!

After Organic Farm trip Royce and I crossed the huge drain, fought with ants and mosquito to pick wild orchid for the girls! And I made each and everyone of them (again) to wear it!

While waiting for our shuttle bus for our Japanese Garden and Botanical Garden, the boys went to the arcade and we girls have girly time! We picked many flowers around and took pictures by the pool. While we were busy picking flowers a huge fat centipede fall from the roof NEXT TO ME!

The off to Jap Garden!

It is a beautiful place indded! I love the landscape! We get to feed and watch the fat Koi fish fight for food (with RM1, thanks to Royce and Shannon for sponsoring the fish food).

Within the garden, they have spa, massage with oil (who are you who are you), and for those really really rich people who don't know how to spend money, rm78 for tea ceremony, where you will wear a Kamdar cotten kimono and a 5 ringgit pasar malam slippers, wash your hands by the fish pond and drink tea with awkward sitting position on hard wood in a small hut.

Then we went to the botanical garden. There's a Japanese Restaurant at the entrance of the garden.

The place reminds me of Hashing with Papa only with cemented trails. So many stairs! But it is a beautiful place! We can even screamed for fun towards the deeper part of the Botanical Garden.

At the end of our trip we sat by the gardens with illegal outside food and played cards on the grass. It really felt like countryside. The trip home was like going home from Genting or Cameron Highlands. A friend commented I was sleeping like a worm in the van! Hahahaha!

I had a fun trip compare to Genting. Berjaya Hills is very clean and neat. I do love the place if it wasn't for the forest around. Felt the creeps. But I am still fussy with the choice of people I go for trips for. It didn't feel like a group outing since most of the time we were abandoned to walk around by the host and hostess and a little noticable black face.

But thanks to the trip I get to know the funny side of Loo Ping better! She's so funny!

Thank you, Danny and JJ for organising this trip. I had fun walking around!

Did I mentioned I got scratched by a bunny?
